Red Squirrel Press invites you to join us for the launch of Sean O’Brien’s poetry pamphlet, Back of Beyond: English Mysteries.

Back of Beyond follows Sean O’Brien’s acclaimed twelfth poetry collection The Bonfire Party (Picador, 2026).

The new poems explore taken-for-granted rituals in the back of an English beyond, including sheds, cricket, rural auctions, Guy Fawkes Night, and slow trains heading even further beyond. O’Brien is Emeritus Professor or Creative Writing at Newcastle University and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
